Split Pea Soup

Winter is upon us so that means stews, hotpots, roasts and most importantly, soup! This is a firm favourite in our house, there really is nothing that comes close to the warm internal hug you get from a steaming bowl of split pea soup. This is hearty, nourishing and packed full of goodness to keep you going on those cold, cold days.

Super easy to make and deeply satisfying every time you do x

Delicious and nourishing winter split pea soup
Prep Time: 2 hours
Cook Time: 20 minutes

  • Cooking pot or saucepan
  • Stick blender


  • 250 g quick soak dried split peas
  • 1 litre vegan stock
  • 2 sticks celery
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 onion


  • Dissolve the tablets included with the quick soak peas in 850ml of boiling water
  • Soak the peas in the water for two hours
  • Chop the celery and onion
  • After 2 hours drain the peas and wash thoroughly under a running cold tap
    Dried pea in a sieve
  • Make up a litre of vegan stock with boiling water and add this to the cooking pot
  • Add the peas, onion, celery and nutritional yeast to the pot and bring to the boil
  • Leave to simmer for 15 minutes
  • Using the stick blender blitz the soup until smooth or desired thickness
  • Get inside the bowl and scoff the lot.
    Salt and pepper croutons are optional but recommended!


This is such an easy soup to make, just make sure to soak the peas when you have breakfast and by lunchtime you be ready to go!
